At McDonough District Hospital, we provide health services for women of all ages, including adolescents who have just started menstruating, expectant pregnant women, and women going through menopause. We have four board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists and a certified Nurse Midwife on staff, as well as over twenty nurses who bring a combined 300 years of experience. Well-prepared to meet female health needs at any point in life, we’re accepting new patients.
As a Level II Obstetrics Department, our family-centered maternity unit offers 24-hour specialized care. We can help women before, during, and after low- to high-risk pregnancies. Our Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center features highly secure, state-of-the-art suites that include a private bathroom with a whirlpool tub, which are offered to help with pain control during labor and to help with relaxation during postpartum recovery. We also provide spacious waiting rooms, a new playroom for kids, in-room couches that fold down into beds, and more.
The MDH OBGYN clinic is located for your convenience in the main MDH facility, just two floors above the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center. This center of excellence is provided to you for one goal in mind: to provide the highest level and quality of women’s health services within one convenient location. Dedicated parking is established in front of the main MDH entrance for expected mothers and patients of the MDH OBGYN clinic. In addition, MDH has a certified pediatric and neonatal nurse practitioner on staff to provide care for newborns through age 18. From pregnancy through childbirth and beyond, we can provide you and your family with the care you need.
